From January, women who are enrolled in national health insurance and who become pregnant or give birth are eligible for a temporary reduction of their national health insurance tax. Those who wish to receive the reduction must apply for it.

How to apply

Applications can be submitted starting 6 months from the expected delivery date. Please go to either the Insurance & Pension Division (1st floor, window 9 of City Hall) or the Citizens' Welfare Division of any branch office to apply. For those who prefer to apply via post, please check the Takasaki City website (Japanese only) for more information.

  • Maternal Health Book (boshi kenko techo)

Things to Note

  • For deliveries that occured between November 2023 and January 2024, the reduction will only come into effect after January 2024.
