Shopping support for the elderly

There is a support service in place for elderly residents of Takasaki, known as "Koreisha Setai Kaimono SOS" in Japanese. Elderly residents who are too sick or frail to go shopping for basic necessities can call to place an order with designated staff, who will then send the items directly to their home.

  • Eligibility: Those aged 65 or older who live in a household with only elderly persons and who have difficulty going shopping (including reasons such as being sick or unable to walk by themselves)
  • Usage: Limited to up to twice a week per household
  • Cost: The service is free but the user pays for the items they order
  • Eligible Items: Users can choose from around 400 different eligible items, such as various meats, fish, and vegetables

Registration is required to use this service. It is recommended that you register as soon as possible so that in case of an emergency you will be able to use it right away.

How to register

Registration can be done via phone or online. For more information, please see the Takasaki City website or contact the Health & Medical Services Division.

How to use

(1)Call the number written on your registration card and place an order with the staff  (you will receive the registration card when you initially sign-up for this service).

(2)In general, orders placed by noon will be delivered on the same day and those placed in the afternoon will get delivered the next day.

(3)Please pay with cash on delivery.
