Throwing away electronics like tablets and portable batteries

Electronics such as tablets, portable batteries, etc. use lithium batteries, which may generate heat or catch fire if they become damaged by a strong, outside force.

Do not put in the regular trash collection area

Recently there has been increased cases of fires breaking out due to lithium batteries being left inside items that were dropped off on non-burnable garbage stations. Instead of placing them in non-burnable garbage stations, they should be handed over in-person to staff at the following facilities:

• Takahama Clean Center
• Yoshii Clean Center
• Shinmachi Clean Station
• General Waste Collection Division (ippan haiki-mono taisaku-ka) of City Hall
• Citizens Welfare Division (shimin fukushi-ka) of any branch office of City Hall
