Changes regarding the child allowance

The child allowance system has been partially revised to include more eligible persons and increase the amount of money received. This will come into effect starting from the December payment. These changes are as follows:

1. Payments will extend through high school (until March 31st after the child turns 18)
2. Income limits will be eliminated
3. Payments for a third child or more will be raised to 30,000 yen per month
4. Payments for a third child or more will continue until March 31st after they turn 22, and the number of payments will increase from five to six times per year

New applications

For those who have newly become eligible and are not yet receiving either the child allowance or the special child allowance, you will need to submit a new application. Takasaki will send more information in the mail. The deadline to apply is Thursday, October 31st.

If you believe you are eligible but did not receive anything from Takasaki in the mail, please inquire directly.

An application may be required even for those who are already receiving these subsidies. For more information, please check either the Takasaki City official website or information sent in the mail.
