Cash benefit available for low income households

Low income households that were exempt from paying residence tax (known as hikazei seitai, 非課税世帯 in Japanese) in 2024 may be able to receive a cash benefit of 30,000 yen. Households need to have been registered in Takasaki as of December 13th 2024 to be eligible. An additional 20,000 yen will be also given to each child under the age of 18 living in eligible households.

Takasaki mailed out information to households believed to be eligible in early February. Those who wish to receive the cash benefit must fill out the papers included in the notice and sent back before the deadline.

The deadline to submit is Friday, May 30th.
