Subsidy available for getting cats fixed

Takasaki is subsidizing the cost of getting pet cats spayed or neutered. The subsidy will cover 5,000 yen for females and 3,000 yen for males, and is available while funds last.

Eligibility

• Must have a valid address in Takasaki (limited to 3 cats per household)
• The spaying or neutering surgery must have taken place at a veterinary office located in Gunma Prefecture

How to apply

Please visit the Public Health Division located inside the General Health Center (sogo hoken senta). Alternatively, applications can also be submitted to the Citizens Welfare Division of a local branch office of city hall (those living in Shinmachi should go to the Shinmachi Clean Center instead). Please apply within 3 months of getting the surgery done.

Required items

Please bring the following when you want to apply for the subsidy.

• Documentation confirming the bank account information of the applicant (the money will be sent via bank transfer)
• Receipt from the veterinary office (or documentation confirming the name of the applicant & cat, the date of the surgery, and whether it was a spay or neuter)
