Online medical interpreting at hospitals now available

Takasaki now provides online medical interpreting services at four hospitals around the city. Patients choose their preferred language on a tablet and are then connected directly to an interpreter at a call center.

Different languages are available at different times depending on the hospital. Additionally, the departments available at each hospital are listed below, along with some examples of typical treatments they provide. Please inquire to ensure that the hospital can provide the specific treatment you are seeking before you go.

Takasaki General Medical Center

*Note: You need a referral from a smaller clinic before you can make an appointment here.

• General Medicine (sogo shinri-ka); For instances where you are unsure which department you need
• Internal Medicine (nai-ka); For things like colds, fevers, headaches, lifestyle diseases, etc.
• Pediatrics (shonin-ka); For children who have a fever, cough, runny nose, diarrhea, etc.
• Orthopedics (seikeige-ka); For issues relating to bones, joints, muscles, nerves, etc.
