Cancer screening tests for residents of Takasaki

Takasaki provides annual cancer screening tests for residents that allow for several tests to be taken at the one time, for a reduced fee. Test types and eligible people are noted in the table below. Tests require an appointment.

Chest x-ray for lung cancer/tuberculosis ※2 People aged 40 and above 500 yen
Stomach cancer barium x-ray People aged 40 and above 800 yen
Colon cancer screening People aged 40 and above 800 yen
Prostate cancer screening Males aged 50 and above 500 yen
Stomach cancer risk screening 40 year olds, 45 year olds, and people aged 50 and above who haven't taken this screening test since April 2018 500 yen

※1 Free for people aged 70 and above, and for people aged 65 and above who are receiving "seikatsu hogo" welfare, or who are in a low income bracket that is not required to pay resident tax.

※2 People who smoke may also require a sputum test that will incur an additional fee of 500 yen.
